Sponsor | | Moshev | Nov 7, 2006 1:00am | Several years ago I listened on the CB radio.It didnt take long before I got tired of all the 'beefing'and cursing that went on in there.I decided to study for an Amateur Radio Operators License.Since I mostly listened in it never occured to me that it was so easy to communicate with the other people who were on the frequencies. I eventually joined several late night nets and ended up being a net control coordinator in a couple of the clubs.
There is an exchange of cards between operators (I filled up 22 photo albums) with those cards and used the contacts for awards.One of them was called the 'Night Owl' award and I got that one hands down! Eventually I got to tinkering with building my own antennas and making low power(5watts) transmissions all over the world.Believe me there is enough action up on those frequencies to keep you busy until the sun peeps over the hills in the early morning. |
